How We Help

Donations of Sanitary Towels

Girls from poor communities often lack hygienic sanitary towels used during their periods. This not only affect their esteem but it subject them to stigma, make them susceptible to diseases and as a result they skip classes until their monthly periods are over.

Donations of Mobility Devices

People who live with disabilities and comes from families that are financially challenged experience very difficult living conditions. Poverty have made it impossible for these families to earn a living, which mean they cannot enroll the disabled in special schools or get mobility aiding devices. Without special training or mobility aids, people living with disabilities often depend on their caretakers all the time which takes up the time the caretakers should be earning a living.

Donations of Food Stuff

Most of the senior citizens are suffering from starvation and ill-health. At this old age, the senior citizens are not able to work as their health does not permit at all anymore. This category of group members has quite a number of challenges. They sometimes go without meals for a number of days because they cannot fend for themselves due to their advanced ages. As part of our ongoing initiatives, we have been donating food to 50 elderly people in the Kibirigwi area in Kirinyaga County. Our donations have included needy families with people living with disabilities, where the caregivers’ working hours have been limited as they take care of their kin.

About Us

WKF takes care of the elderly and people living with disability who have been neglected, abandoned, sickly, lonely and poor. With limited resources from well-wishers, we provide their daily basic needs, take the sick to the hospital, help them register with social protection, lobby and advocate for their rights.

WKF’s main objective is to complement the efforts of the government and to have a community that takes care of their elderly people and those living with disability at the comfort of their homes, while strengthening community support, awareness and response to the plight and rights of the vulnerable members of the society.
